The BIFM Lifetime Achievement Award recognises individuals who have made a significant and recognised contribution to facilities management over the course of their career. The contributions of the individual should have had a lasting impact on the profession or industry.

Judging criteria

Individuals will be assessed based on a clear demonstration of their commitment to the progression of FM where they have made both a significant and positive impact throughout their career. The nominated individual must have:

> An established history and proven track record in facilities management

> Exhibited professional leadership and inspiration to others

> Made a positive and lasting impact on the FM profession or industry

> The respect of their peers

> Integrity and be recognised by the industry as playing a key role in the progression of the profession or development of the industry.

Eligibility

> Nominees do not need to be a BIFM member to be considered for this award.

> Nominees do not need to be in current employment.

> Nominees do not have to be (or have been) a practicing facilities management professional, they may have contributed through other means, through academia, research or in another relevant business leader role impacting and supporting the industry.

> Nominations can be made to individuals posthumously.

Nomination

There is no fee to nominate an individual for this award.
Individuals from the following groups are invited to submit nominations for this award:
> MBIFM
> CBIFM
> FBIFM

In addition, it is recommended that the nomination is supported  by at least three supporters of the nomination to build on breath of evidence and support. At least three of these must hold membership at MBIFM, CBIFM or FBIFM level.

Submission

To nominate an individual for this award the sponsor must submit a statement of up to two A4 pages evidencing how the nominee meets the criteria, along with additional evidence supporting the submission including, letters of achievement, newspaper articles, full CV of individual outlining their whole career in FM.

Judging process

This Award has a different process to the rest of the categories, the entry is judged and assessed by a judging panel and may, if needed, call upon the nominator and supporters for further evidence, information if needed.  There are no finalists in this category and the winner is announced at the BIFM Awards ceremony.
